In the year 2000, an event called "2nd Impact" occured. The government explained that it was a meteor that fall from outer space and melted the polar ice caps in Antarctica. It caused major flooding all over the world. This event also lead to the death of most of the world's population.

Fifteen years later, mysterious entities, only known as Angels, appeared to challenge humanity. Their purpose was unknown to the humans. An organization was created by the UN in 2010 and was called Nerv. Their tasks was to create a weapon that would defeat the Angels. And this was the Multi- purpose Humanoid fighting machine also known as: Evangelion.
These weapons are now placed into the hands of a group of 14 year olds.

The war between the angels and humans has begun...
